National Whippet Association Championship Show 14th August 2021
Whippets Dogs
Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge, and to the relaxed and efficient way the show was organised and managed. It is difficult to maintain your own identity with the show being held in partnership with a general championship but having rings on the end adjacent to each other away from other breeds gave it a personel feel and a colourful outlook with the many different types of gazabos and shelters being used by the exhibitors. The conditions were ideal for Whippets, sun shining, not too hot with a gentle breeze.
There was a great variation quality and type in most of the classes which made judging interesting to say the least. Balanced shape, soundness and movement was the order of the day and in some classes, it was hard to have all these attributes together.
With my co judge Mrs Liz Cartledge we were in full agreement with all the challenges and was please to award Perkins Silkridge Just Joey his 3rd and crowning CC and Best In Show.
Reserve Best in Show and Best Opposite Sex was the Short’s Collooney Bit On The Side JW, Best Puppy in Show was Mycroft’s Supeta’s Little Darling, Best Veteran In Show was Johnson’s Ch Danluke Lord of the Dance JW and Best Racing /Lure Coursing was Sampson’s Shiny Sensations For Your Eyes Only To Dapperdiva (IMP NLD).
