NWA Open Show
2nd February 2008
JUDGE: Mr John Foster (Dyldan)
MINOR PUPPY DOG (4, 1)
1 Osborne's Midnight Dazzler at Derohan. Black, very much a baby. Presented in lovely condition with shiny coat. Best outline in the class, sufficient body condition and development for his age. Well proportioned rear quarters with correct angulation. Moved well.
2 Fulcher's Khandibah Kayser'ra. Fawn. A more rangy baby that will need more time to come together. Not as good in topline as winner but has good development to his strong quarters.
3 McKay's Sweet Revenge.
PUPPY DOG (6, 1)
1 Osborne's Loroli Authorized by Derohan. Fawn brindle. Masculine head, good neck and shoulder placement and sufficient body development for a youngster. I liked his shape and balanced angles, with good topline. Moved nicely. Best Puppy Dog.
2 Bunney's Bunehug Wizard Charm. White, fawn markings. A maturer dog than winner with a pleasing shape, covering plenty of ground. Nice for size and moved well but I preferred the balance of winner.
3 Baulkwill's Asterius of Cometes.
JUNIOR DOG (6)
1 Howgate & Hill's Palmik Midnight Mission JW. Fawn brindle. Very elegant and impressive youngster. I loved his refined head with lengthy neck and good shoulder placement. His topline is flowing and this together with his strong nicely angulated quarters enabled him to move with drive and purpose. Handled to advantage and close up for top honours.
2 Connatty's Wrenalla Just A Bit More. Fawn and white. Another that covered plenty of ground when standing. Well developed in body with good rear quarters. Couldn't match overall qualities of the winner.
3 Clarke & Moore's Bluestreak Bright Side among Sunwalkers.
NOVICE DOG (6)
1 Loroli Authorized by Derohan.
2 Bluestreak Bright Side among Sunwalkers. Fawn brindle. Another youngster that had plenty of attributes but not showing them off today. Lengthy body with good depth, well angulated rear quarters. A better mover than others in the class.
3 Knowles's Whisper In The Dark.
GRADUATE DOG (4, 1 abs)
1 Meads's Jasbri Soulmate. Black of sufficient length and proportions to enable him to move freely and with purpose, but unfortunately not the precision I was looking for. Shown in good body condition with good depth and width to chest, presented a pleasing picture when standing.
2 Crawford's Barnesmore Abracadabra with Syncopation. Brindle, nice for shape and balance. Correct well developed rear angulation. Let down by his movement.
3 Freeman's Hazy Sunset.
POST GRADUATE DOG (5)
1 Thomas's Faracre Finale. Pale fawn of nice size with balanced proportions and angles that matched front and rear. I loved his refined head, and good flow from neck to shoulders with correct topline. Plenty of depth to his well developed but clean body. A dog not overdone in anyway that moves well.
2 Rishworth's Daleko Hiighland Boy. Fawn. Similar remarks apply as to my 1st, again nice for size, a little longer in body proportions, unlucky to meet winner. Just preferred more positive movement of 1st.
3 Anderson's Woolsocks Red Kite.
LIMIT DOG (7)
1 Price's Whisterfield Jack The Lad among Silkdance. Fawn that presents a lovely picture of balance and correctness. Not the smallest of dogs and his head may not appeal to some, but he conforms to the standard in other points. He has well angled shoulders and his body condition is excellent. The best of well developed rear angulation enabled him to move positively and accurately. A dog that has improved with maturity. Reserve Best Dog.
2 Anderson's Shoalingham Senator.Fawn of quality, nice for size with shapely outline. Liked him a lot but preferred more positive movement of winner.
3 Home & Fisher-Home's Jasarat Galaxy Gold.
OPEN DOG (8, 2a)
1.Hall's Faracre Figaro at Arlane JW. Fawn and white. Has matured into a nice dog and has fined down since I last judged him. Good front assembly with correct topline and body leading to well angulated and developed rear quarters. Moved precisely and true.
2 Minns & Scholes's Juneric Little Rascal. Red with white trim. Nice refined head. Plenty of length to body. Looked good standing and moved well, but I would have preferred more condition to his lean body.
3 McGrath's Teeton Mill.
Open Racing/Coursing D (5)
1 Whisterfield Jack The Lad among Silkdance.
2 Webber's Penbriar Foxhunter. Fawn. Very nice dog for size and shape. Good neck and shoulders, nicely developed body, shown in good condition and moved well.
3 Reed's Dejare Cobweb.
VETERAN DOG (6)
1 Hall's Faracre Fanfare to Arlane. Fawn of excellent conformation. Most appealing head qualities, refined but without weakness. Best of neck and shoulder placement, flowing from head to tail. Very clean classic lines with good body construction and muscular well angulated quarters. Moved with effortless long low strides without deviation. Age has enhanced this gentleman's overall correctness and I had no hesitation in awarding him Best Dog.
2 Price's Oakbark Master Mindful at Silkdance. Fawn and white. A nice dog, more compact than winner and presents a pleasing picture when standing. Good rear angulation, another that is very correct and moved well.
3 Webber's Krafty Cockney.
VETERAN BITCH (9, 2a)
1 Price's Silkstone Butterfly at Silkdance JW. Fawn that I have always admired. Have judged her before and done her well. Even as a veteran her quality, conformation and feminine virtues are evident. Today she was shown in good hard condition that enabled her to move with precision and in complete harmony with her owner. She still has sufficient verve and poise to see off most of the younger opposition. One I would love to own. Reserve Best Bitch, Res BIS, Best Vet in Show, Best Race/Coursing in Show.
2 Walker's Shoalingham Selebration. Fawn with white trim, very similar in construction to 1st but couldn't match her condition and movement.
3 Nelson's Hamiltonian Aide Memoire
1 Osborne's Midnight Dazzler at Derohan. Black, very much a baby. Presented in lovely condition with shiny coat. Best outline in the class, sufficient body condition and development for his age. Well proportioned rear quarters with correct angulation. Moved well.
